Fifteen refurbished laptops will be allocated to students at the Salvador Pil贸n Alternative Education Center.

In a joint effort to promote education and reduce the digital divide in rural areas, the Fundaci贸n Nacional Vida Segura, in partnership with the Rotary Club Santa Cruz de la Sierra, has donated 15 refurbished laptops to the Salvador Pil贸n Alternative Education Center, located in San Miguel de Velasco.

“We are honored by the agreement signed between both institutions and thrilled to carry out this first action in support of the community,” said Jos茅 Luis Camacho Miserendino, president of the foundation. “With this initiative, we reaffirm our commitment to education as a driver of development.” Julio C茅sar Caballero, director of the foundation, also highlighted the Rotary Club鈥檚 work in support of underserved communities: “We truly value the important social work they do, especially in rural areas. We share the same vision of social service,” he said.

The donation was made as part of the Minga Digital Program, led by Ra煤l Coval谩n, and was attended by Freddy 脡g眉ez, treasurer and president-elect of the Rotary Club Santa Cruz, who received the laptops on behalf of the institution. It is worth noting that the devices were recovered from various offices of Grupo Nacional Vida and are in perfect working condition.

鈥淭hank you for giving us the opportunity to change lives. With these laptops, we will provide access to technology for people eager to learn. The devices will be adapted to the students鈥 curriculum, ensuring they have access to all the information they need for their education,鈥 emphasized Coval谩n.

For his part, 脡g眉ez expressed his satisfaction with the beginning of the partnership between Fundaci贸n Nacional Vida Segura and the Rotary Club Santa Cruz. 鈥淭his is just the beginning. We will continue working together for our society, especially in the areas of education and health,鈥 he affirmed.
