The National Safe Life Foundation officially presented the “Concert for Life,” a charity evening that will bring together the talent of renowned pianist Marianela Aparicio and acclaimed guitarist Piraí Vaca in a special night dedicated to supporting the Santa Cruz Nursing Home. The event will take place on Wednesday, May 17, starting at 7:30 p.m. in the Gardenia Hall at Los Tajibos Hotel, and all proceeds will go toward benefiting the elderly residents of the home.
The announcement was made during a press conference by Julio César Caballero, Executive Director of the Foundation, who emphasized the importance of joining efforts in support of a meaningful cause that will help provide better care and living conditions for the seniors residing at the shelter. Also present at the event, held at the Nacional Seguros offices, were the artists as well as representatives of the nursing home, Sister Doris Meza and Keli Carmiñia.
As he was traveling, José Luis Camacho Miserendino, President of the National Safe Life Foundation, shared a video message inviting the people of Santa Cruz to join this initiative and celebrate together the transformative power of music and solidarity. “Beyond enjoying an unforgettable evening, your presence will serve a deeply human purpose: supporting those who need our care and commitment the most,” he expressed.

For her part, Marianela Aparicio said she was happy to be part, for the second time, of a project promoted by the Foundation, recalling that last December she performed during the charity dinner “Let’s Light Up Life.” “Music is an act of giving, and I believe that every human being is here with a purpose. So being able to do what I love, my passion, while helping improve the lives of those who need us most is truly a privilege for me,” she said.
Meanwhile, her fellow performer on stage, Piraí Vaca, shared: “I’m very happy to be part of this project, through which we will help improve the lives of these elderly people. Seeing images of their reality deeply moved me, and that motivated me and gave me a special reason to be here. There are many reasons to feel happy; one of them is being able to bring out another side of human beings that we greatly need in these times and that is so important: solidarity.”
After expressing her gratitude for the initiative, Sister Doris highlighted that the funds raised from the concert will be of great help to the nursing home’s residents. “Every day, elderly people arrive in more fragile conditions and, unfortunately, we cannot take many of them in because we simply do not have enough capacity. Right now, there are 11 of us nuns; several are already elderly themselves — one is 90 years old, two are 83, and the others are younger — but the work is very demanding, and many things are needed, even basic items like diapers. Thank you so much for everything, and I hope we will have great success. And we will, because we will support this effort with our prayers,” she concluded.
