Fifteen refurbished laptops will be allocated to students at the Salvador Pilón Alternative Education Center.

In a joint effort to promote education and reduce the digital divide in rural areas, the Fundación Nacional Vida Segura, in partnership with the Rotary Club Santa Cruz de la Sierra, has donated 15 refurbished laptops to the Salvador Pilón Alternative Education Center, located in San Miguel de Velasco.

“We are honored by the agreement signed between both institutions and thrilled to carry out this first action in support of the community,” said José Luis Camacho Miserendino, president of the foundation. “With this initiative, we reaffirm our commitment to education as a driver of development.” Julio César Caballero, director of the foundation, also highlighted the Rotary Club’s work in support of underserved communities: “We truly value the important social work they do, especially in rural areas. We share the same vision of social service,” he said.

The donation was made as part of the Minga Digital Program, led by Raúl Covalán, and was attended by Freddy Égüez, treasurer and president-elect of the Rotary Club Santa Cruz, who received the laptops on behalf of the institution. It is worth noting that the devices were recovered from various offices of Grupo Nacional Vida and are in perfect working condition.

“Thank you for giving us the opportunity to change lives. With these laptops, we will provide access to technology for people eager to learn. The devices will be adapted to the students’ curriculum, ensuring they have access to all the information they need for their education,” emphasized Covalán.

For his part, Égüez expressed his satisfaction with the beginning of the partnership between Fundación Nacional Vida Segura and the Rotary Club Santa Cruz. “This is just the beginning. We will continue working together for our society, especially in the areas of education and health,” he affirmed.
